Growing up gay in a conservative Christian community and, at the same time, feeling the call to ministry, David Hall did the only thing he could see as a viable path forward.
He married a woman.
Today, over a decade after the death of his wife, Hall is happily involved in Christian community and planning a wedding to the man he loves. Listen to Hesed Project’s online conversation with Hall as he talked about his journey out of the closet to wholeness.
Hall collected some of his letters, journal entries and reflections in a book called Authentically Me: Writings of a Gay Christian’s Journey of Living as He Was Created to Be, published in 2025.
